Welcome to our community

Disciples of Christ

How do you describe our church to others? As members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) we do not have the "brand name" recognition of some other denominations, and to some degree that is good. We never set out to be a denomination in the first place, but rather to be a movement to foster the unity of the church for the sake of Christ's mission. Nevertheless, we evolved into a distinct group within the universal church as such have a particular identity and culture.

Chalice: represents Growing spirituality. Growing spirituality through worship, prayer, study of scripture and small groups.  Continuing to enhance the vibrancy and relevancy of worship.  Continuing and expanding our prayer ministry, study groups, S3 (study, social, service) opportunities on Sunday and home bound and hospital visitation.

Hands: represents Invitation to all. Creating intentional invitation and inclusion in the life of visitors and our congregation for all people through worship, education and fellowship opportunities.  Always being aware of and nurturing the growth of one another.

Feet: represents All things mission! Acting out our faith in our community, our country and our world through mission. Central Christian often reaches out to others.  This includes volunteering in Lebanon's Caring Center, Shalom House and What's for Lunch.  It includes going on mission trips both in and out-of-country.  It includes working with Puente Azul, a community created in El Salvador for those displaced by their civil war.

Heart: represents Caring Communities. Creating and sustaining multiple caring communities such as youth groups, men and women's groups and music groups.

Mission Opportunities

El Salvador--Central Christian has been involved with international outreach since 2001.  Beginning in 2006, we have supported work and medical mission, student scholarships, and a residential solar panel project in the community of Puente Azul, El Salvador.  You can donate below to provide support for our work.  Be sure to check out our work and visit "Hagase' la luz" on Facebook for more pictures about bringing light and hope to this tiny community.
